WITHDRAWN - The fifth generation of the Quattroporte was unveiled on 9 September 2003, and design was by Pininfarina. Built on an entirely new platform, it was 19.7 in longer than its predecessor and sat on a 15.7 in longer wheelbase. Initially it was powered by an evolution of the naturally aspirated dry sump 4.2-litre V8 engine, mounted on the Maserati Coupé, with an improved output of 400 bhp. Due to its greater weight compared to the Coupé and Spyder, the 0-62 mph time for the Quattroporte was 5.2 seconds and the top speed 171 mph. Over 25,000 Quattroportes were built between 2003 and 2012.
