This Ford Mustang factory 'C' code V8 came to the vendor in June 2011 from Bill Shepherd Mustang in West Byfleet, having had 2 previous owners since it's importation into the UK in September 1993. This multi concours winning 1965 Notchback had been thoroughly prepared for the vendor’s collection, including a new Goodwrench 302ci crate motor, supplied by Real Steel in Cowley.
The car features a 302ci V8 engine, C4 auto transmission, 8" rear axle, Front disc conversion using new callipers, discs and big bearing spindles, Stainless steel brake pipes throughout, Spax adjustable dampers, Power steering, Edlebrock Performer inlet manifold with bespoke 700cfm Holley carburettor, bespoke HT harness and electronic distributor, Torque Thrust wheels with B F Goodrich tyres, electric tinted windows, remote central locking, remote boot release, radio/CD multi changer and electric aerial, delay relay LED interior lighting, bespoke Old English white/dark grey/light grey interior with matching Grant steering wheel, bespoke centre console with illuminated gear position display, and bespoke billet aluminium six gauge covered dashboard.
All MoT's since 1993 are present, showing no failures, or even a single advisory ever. The present mileage is 6,816 miles.
SPY 304C, then in mint green, was voted Classic American Magazine's Car of the Year in the year 2000. Not satisfied with this level of excellence, the then owner completely rebuilt the car, from the last nut and bolt up, into the Restomod style car you see here. The mileage was then set to zero. SPY 304C still presents as a millimetre perfect example of the marque, now in rather more practical condition than the obsessional heights of full national concours preparation.
