Reliant Scimitar se4 2.6 straight six 1966 with a recently rebuilt engine and overdrive unit and, although some time ago the triple SU carburettors had been rebuilt but never ran on until recently. This Car runs and drives very well , and is in very good condition having been restored some years ago (engine was never finished) the car is still presenting very well as it was never used, but may need some fine tuning.

The SE4 Coupe was the very first Scimitar and was a true “Grande Tourismo” car produced in small numbers by Reliant in the mid 1960’s. It was based on the rally proven Sabre 6 with a new pretty Ogle designed body, a well appointed interior, and the same straight six engine but now with triple SU’s. A rare and expensive car in it’s time, there are now just a few left running and on the road.

FBF 469C is car number 62 of the 297 built as documented by the RSSOC and comes directly from a private collection. The car is beautifully finished in French racing blue and has the attractive two tone early interior. Purchased some years ago at auction after major extensive restoration work this SE4 has then had additional work costed at over £12k to bring the car up to the lovely condition seen today. The car has had very little use over the last few years and will now benefit from some regular use and please note the disconnected interior light and clock are not working. Details of the more recent work are with the paperwork for the car which also includes older invoices, a copy of the original handbook, and period test reports. A toolkit, spare wheel, and original jack are present.

SE4 Straight Sixes easily outperformed their more common rivals back in the day and with their lively engines and distinctive exhaust note, 4 speed gearbox with overdrive on 3rd and top, and a well developed chassis and suspension, they continue to be underrated by those not familiar with them.
