Fiat X1/9 Special Edition 1988 offered here has been in the current ownership since 2004. he car has covered just over 69,000 miles and has had 3 owners since new and is in the metallic mica blue colour. The car has been well looked after, it is very original and is remarkably rust free with only very light surface rust on some of the underbody components and has had no welding or major repairs throughout the car’s life. Having been an Owners Club member’s car for many years, the car is as unchanged as possible and has only had minor upgrades/modifications which could be easily reversed.

The previous owner fitted a MOSS alarm which has never used but it is in still in place and the alarm fob will be included.

With two previous owners the car was purchased in 2004. During many of these years it was a daily driver, the results of which are some small dings and blemishes to the paintwork. The previous owner has used a touch up brush to cover some small chips which can be seen when you look closely. It has been regularly serviced and comes with an MOT until April 2024 (no advisories).

The Alcantra poker dot fabric never wore well and where possible has been retained (and for driver’s seat patched) but both the seats have had the centre panels replaced with a matching blue Connolly leather where it was too worn.

Other than this the car’s interior remains untouched

The bodywork is generally good but as mentioned there are some small marks and dings but nothing major. The underbody was regularly Waxoyled so shows only light surface rust and the paint work is bright with just some slight dullness to the boot lid and a few marks and some small dents and touched up scratches as previously mentioned.

The interior is in very good condition with all switches, panels and door cards unmarked. The LED clock has lost one segment but other than that everything works as it should apart from the oil pressure gauge which has never worked. It was replaced early in it’s life but due to the positioning in the sump it tends to get clogged with detritus and stopped working again soon after so was left as is – the low oil warning light however does operate.

The cars still has original Ruote OZ wheels, with lockable wheel nuts, which are in good condition with some ‘worming’ but nothing serious. Tyres still have plenty of tread and are in good condition.

The car runs well with no known faults and has recently had a full fluids change (oil, brake and cooling). The engine bay is clean and tidy for car of this age.

The car comes with the original bill of sale, Fiat Warranty and Maintenance Guide (which shows service stamps up to 2004) and Owner’s handbook as well MOTs going back to 1994 and all the receipts while in current ownership plus a selection of useful articles on the X1/9 from classic car publications over the past twenty years.

Also included are:

1. A very rare Technical Manual Folder as issued by Fiat to their dealers and which is nearly impossible to find but includes all the important settings, drawings and maintenance information dealers need to service the car

2. Haynes Manual, well used but intact.

3. Owners Club Technical Reprints – this is a really useful comb bound book and was issued by the Owners Club and includes loads of useful technical tips and hints from the club magazines over the years – once again, well used but intact.

4. Owners Club Technical Data Handbook which features information from all the technical articles that features in the Club magazine.

4. Fiat X1/9 books including the excellent X1/9 Collectors Guide by Phil Ward.

5. Two sets of keys
