Daimler Hooper Empress 1953 offered for sale. This is a rare chance to own 1 of only 2 of the 2 door saloon's ever made. This beautifully rare Empress was first supplied by Hoopers to Stratstones of Mayfair in a Mid-Blue with Metallic silver-blue side panels and a stunning light grey-blue upholstery. The car had been saved from being scrapped and thus began a 20 year restoration to return the car to its former glory. The original engine number was 48527 which shows as the current engine number on the HPI and this is chassis number 82007. The car even now sports its original colour scheme. The vehicle was first given the number MBT2 (2 old log books showing ownership) and retained a new reg number of 592JGK in 1974.

One of the old log books that had reg MBT2, was owned by a Mr Cameron who had written to Stratstone themselves to obtain more information of this vehicle. The response given in a letter from the Managing Director of Stratstone Limited in 1976, was that the car had been used to give a demonstration to "the most high ranking lady in the county" at the time, (believed to be the late Queen Elizabeth II). The letter from Stratstone is present in the history. There is a picture of the letter from Stratstone Limited with the highlighted section describing the believed to be royal link.

The history for the vehicle is very extensive, featuring multiple photos of restoration, various letters on discussions of the car, invoices for the work that has been carried out on the vehicle, 2 original log books and a Daimler Empress Saloon owners handbook. You will see a couple of photos on the advert showing a couple of Invoices featured in the history, but there are many more. There is also pictures of the original log books, handbook and photos.
