Register To Bid At The Next Auction

At Barons, we like to offer the flexibility to participate in our sales in 3 different ways. As such, we offer the following methods of bidding:

Online Bidding

Online bidding is provided by our partner Easy Live Auction. A live video feed with audio is provided while the sale takes place through the Easy Live website. To register as an online bidder please use the following link: Easy Live Auction

Please note that you will not be able to register as an online bidder until a few days before the sale as this functionality is only activated once the catalogue is closed and lot numbers are assigned. A registration fee of £20 applies when registering for Online Bidding.

A buyer’s premium of 10% plus VAT is payable on the hammer price of each vehicle lot subject to a minimum of £150 + VAT. Barons reserve the right to take a deposit of up to 15% of the hammer price of any sold lot on the fall of the hammer. All lots must be paid for by 12 noon on the day after the sale, and removed from the auction premises within 1 week. Any lots not removed will be charged £20 per day storage at the buyer’s expense. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.

Telephone bidding

To register as a telephone bidder you have two options. You can fill out the form on the ‘Telephone Bidders’ page on our website, or you can download the PDF form, complete and scan the form, and then email it back to us. An administration fee of £15 applies when registering for Telephone Bidding.

You just need to provide some basic personal information and debit card details that we can use to secure a deposit (if you fill out the form on the website you will be contacted for this information), and the details of the lots that you would like to bid on. We will take a £500 pre-authorisation from the card provided from all telephone bidders. This will automatically clear in 4 to 5 working days.

A member of the Barons team will contact you on the telephone number provided a few minutes before any lots that you wish to bid on. You can then submit any bids through the Barons team member, who will talk you through the bidding on the lot as it happens.

Commission bidding

A commission bid is “a bid placed by the auctioneer on behalf of a bidder not present in the room up to a pre-agreed maximum”. The bidder identifies the maximum amount they would like to bid up to and the auctioneer will bid on the absentee bidder’s behalf up to the set amount against other bidders.

So for example,if a commission bid of £10,000 was submitted prior to the auction, the following scenarios may apply (assuming increments of £100)

  • The bidding in the auction room stops at £8,300. In this case the commission bidder would win the lot for £8,400
  • The bidding in the auction room stops at £9,900. In this case the commission bidder would win the lot for £10,000
  • The bidding in the auction room exceeds £10,000. In this case the commission bidder would not win the lot

To register as a commission bidder you have two options. You can fill out the form on the ‘Commission Bidders’ page on our website, or you can download the PDF form, complete and scan the form, and then email it back to us. An administration fee of £15 applies when registering for Commission Bidding.
