The TR6 was introduced in 1968, and was the best-seller of all the TR range. TR6s featured in-line six-cylinder engines, and like the TR5, the TR6 was fuel-injected for all markets except the US, hence the TR6 PI designation. The Lucas mechanical fuel injection system helped produce 150 bhp at model introduction, but in 1972 it was detuned to 125 bhp.
The TR6 had a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15" wheels and tyres, pile carpet, bucket seats, and a full instrumentation. Braking was by front disc brakes, and drum brakes at the rear. A factory steel hardtop was optional. The TR6 dashboard was wooden, and factory options included, a rear anti-roll bar and a limited-slip differential.
This is a 1973 RHD UK supplied Triumph TR6, which comes with an Heritage Certificate. This car has been Fully Restored by a TR6 enthusiast who restored two other TR6s prior to restoring this car. With this car he wanted to create the best TR6 possible, and it was restored with an extensive photograph portfolio to show the bare shell restoration. It benefits from an engine rebuild, an upgraded Stage 3 cylinder head with a fast road cam and twin SU carbs. It has an electric fuel pump, a six branch extractor exhaust manifold, straight through exhausts, uprated driveshafts, electronic ignition and overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears. It has recently been fitted with a Black Mohair soft top and hood bag. It also comes with the very desirable Factory Hard Top.
