The MGB GT was introduced in October 1965, and production continued until 1980. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking design by Pininfarina and launched the sporty hatchback style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear boot lid, the B GT offered the utility of an Estate Car, while retaining the style and shape of a Coupe. The MGB GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars and a different windscreen. Although acceleration of the GT was slightly slower than that of the roadster, owing to its increased weight, the top speed improved by 5 mph to 105 mph because of better aerodynamics.

This is a 1966 MGB GT Mk1 original RHD, which was exported from new to Hong Kong by an RAF man on "Personal Export". There is full history from when it left the factory and was exported to Hong Kong, with a photographic history, extensive receipts, transportation documents, road tax discs from Hong Kong, and transport by the previous owner when the car returned to the UK in 1998. The vendor purchased the car on the unfortunate demise of the previous owner, and he has carried out an extensive restoration, as can be seen from the photographs.

There has been a complete bare metal body preparation by a local bodywork specialist, and there is a full photographic record to show this. The complete original interior comes with the car, and the car has now been fitted with a new Moss interior with the original rubber mats still included. The original dashboard has been reconditioned through Moss with reconditioning of all dials and switches, a new wiring loom and a beautiful original old stock steering wheel with replacement horn mount fitted. All pedal box and internal unseen brackets have been duly powder coated. The interior floor and bulkhead has been sound deadened. The battery cover lid has been powder coated and single battery conversion with isolator completed. In addition, a Moss replacement door panel kit has been fitted.

The front suspension has been completely rebuilt and powder coated. New wheel hubs supplied by Moss. Complete rear axle rebuild and suspension powder coated. Old stock stainless steel exhaust gives a beautiful MG note. The engine bay has been upgraded and fully rebuilt carburettors, on fully documented rebuilt engine. This engine will require to be run in, as it has completed only 5 miles on test runs to date. New ancillaries such as starter, alternator, distributor and radiator and negative earth conversion. All original parts are still available.

Please note that the UK registration will need to be applied for by the buyer.
