The 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond jubilee Edition offered here is finished in Jubilee gold with plush velour champagne upholstery. These were made in very limited numbers with a production run of only 5,159 cars. This was the most expensive production car of 1978 in the USA and was twice the price of a Cadillac De Ville Sedan. The car is supplied with four new white wall tyres, a new battery, all weather stripping replaced on doors/windows/roof etc, a new Valino padded vinyl carriage roof and trunk arch. Recent new air con compressor fitted and gassed. About £8,000 has been spent to bring the Lincoln up to its now splendid condition.
This vehicle is simply sublime to drive with its 406 7.4L engine. It is supplied with the original owner drivers manual, five volumes of work shop manuals covering not only the Lincoln but all Ford vehicles for 1978, plus large supplement brochure for the power moon roof. There is a good amount of history, including original owners purchase details in the hand book from the Philadelphia dealer. The original 8 track is boxed and supplied with the car, and can easily be reinstalled for those who wish to have the period look.
