This 1970 Mk 2 Mini was originally registered as a Mini 1000, and is presented in its original pale blue with a cream roof. The vendor states that in 1993 it was subject to a body shell change with new doors, boot, and bonnet, and an upgraded 1293cc engine with twin 1 ¼” SU carbs and a fast road cam. The car was owned by various members of the same family for many years, then the vendor purchased the car in 2018 as it had been dry stored in their garage for the past 15 years.
It has been recommissioned during 2019/20, when car was subject to a complete overhaul including having the subframes front and back removed, shotblasted and repainted, brakes overhauled, new drive couplings and all mechanicals checked. At this time new wheels and tyres were purchased. The body work is in good condition, having no weld repairs or signs of corrosion. In 2020 a complete new interior was fitted in two tone grey vinyl. The seats and interior kit were a professional, custom made purchase, not a cheaper off the shelf kit. The wool carpets are new, but the headliner would benefit from a clean. There is also a small mark to the nearside front wing.
This is a wolf in sheep's clothing due to its engine upgrade. Overall the car is in very good condition both on the exterior and internally, and it was subject to an MoT in October 2020, passing without advisories. It comes with a very extensive history file of past receipts covering all aspects of work, plus past MoTs and V5.
