The vendor states that to the best of his knowledge and from documentation he has, this Ferrari was originally built in 1984 and exported direct to the US via a French Ferrari agent (the 400 Series was not officially sold in the US so the car is, “Euro Spec”, without any of the bumper or emissions modification that blighted so many official US imports in the 80’s. Upon arrival in the US the car was converted to the current Convertible shape, it is believed in California by Straman Coachworks, and features an electrically operated roof.
The car had a total of 3 owners in the US whom all knew each other, with the final owner, a long standing personal friend of the vendor, acquiring the car in 1993 at 12,394 miles. The car was kept in an underground car park and was used sparingly before the vendor acquired it directly from him in February 2014.
As expected with a car of such low mileage, the bodywork is in excellent condition, and to the best of the vendor's knowledge still has the original factory paint finish. Mechanically the car is also excellent with no known faults and also benefits from a new set of Michelin TRX tyres.
