The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, sometimes called G-Wagen (short for Geländewagen, "cross country vehicle"), is a mid-size four-wheel drive luxury SUV manufactured by Magna Steyr (formerly Steyr-Daimler-Puch) in Austria and sold by Mercedes-Benz. The G-wagen is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. Despite the introduction of an intended replacement, the unibody SUV Mercedes-Benz GL-Class in 2006, the G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz in Daimler's history, with a span of 35 years.
This 1985 SWB Cabrio G-Wagen is a rare RHD 300 turbo-diesel, and has had a full nut and bolt restoration over the last 12 months. It is fast, smooth, powerful, and drives like a new car, as it virtually is. The car has had 2 owners, both Mercedes garages, and comes with full service history. It is fitted with 3 litre om 606 turbo diesel engine and 6 speed manual gearbox.

Shell - stripped and repaired with Mercedes rear quarter panels, full respray (part bare metal) in anthracite metallic, underside stripped re-seam sealed and coated in 3M 2 part stone chip, new heat shield fitted, underside and all cavities wax oiled, all fittings re-plated in correct yellow passivized zinc.
Chassis - grit blasted, acid etched and 5 litres two pack paint in Ral 9011, all new suspension bushes, 4 Bilstein shock absorbers and steering damper, 4 new ball joints, 4 new springs.
Mechanicals - Both axles stripped, blasted, repainted and rebuilt with 4.4:1 diffs all new bearings and seals, brakes all rebuilt with new callipers, drilled discs and braided hoses, new rear cylinders & relined shoes, all new brake lines, low mileage c 220 cdi gearbox (52k), low mileage Om606 engine (64k) stripped, checked and new seals and gaskets fitted, new water pump, new alternator, new starter motor, new belt tensioner, 6 new glow plugs & relay, DieselMekan 6mm injection pump, new hybrid turbo and intercooler, new oil cooler, new 3 row large radiator, all new hoses, new Mercedes 100 litre plastic diesel tank, sender, all new fuel lines.
Interior - Recaro seats trimmed in black nappa leather, new carpets, new door cards, new heater motor and wiper spindles, new windscreen and seal, new door seals.
Exterior - New custom made black mohair hood, rare quick hood frame with gas struts, all the exterior fitting bumpers etc have been primed and powder coated, 5 new BFG tyres on Mercedes rims (Recoated).
