This is a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine Series V GT is described by the vendor as extremely good all round, and to present itself nicely, benefiting from being constantly garaged. As with all classics there is always something to fettle, but this car is an excellent example of a Series V Sunbeam Alpine which has been refurbished where necessary, and sensibly upgraded during the vendors ownership. What really sets this car apart from other example is the history file, there are two large folders with paperwork going all the way back to 1969.

Engine and Gearbox: 1725 engine with recent RR tuning session to ensure it is running correctly. Unleaded head and a recent engine and gearbox oil change. Four speed close ratio gearbox working perfectly with seamless O/D in 3rd & 4th gear. New Girling clutch slave cylinder with silicon fluid

Fuel & Exhaust System: Converted to the new Alpine Innovation Webcon Conversion, now running a 32/36 Weber with specially designed curved inlet manifold and K&N induction filter. This also incorporates a purpose made emission return pipe to maintain the closed circuit emissions. The induction upgrade is a massive improvement over the original Stromberg's, now returning in excess of 40mpg. New replacement fuel pump and auxiliary in-line fuel filter. All fuel hose compliant with R9 spec (ethanol resistant). Recent excellent stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold fitted with heat wrap on each header. Full stainless steel exhaust system to compliment the s/s exhaust manifold. Fuel tanks and associated metal pipes removed, fully cleaned and refurbished. Then treated with POR15 ethanol proof fuel tank sealant with brand new corresponding rubber pipes fitted.

Cooling System: Original radiator upgraded to 3 core with high efficiency performance modern matrix and thermal switch installed. Electric radiator fan fitted with dash mounted manual override switch and warning light. Recent coolant flush and new mixture added.

Ignition System and Electrics: Full electronic distributor with high performance coil. Original 10AC charging system replaced with a simple modern high power output alternator of 70 amps. Various electrical improvements made including relays and period correct reversing lamps. Ammeter replaced with Voltmeter. Spot lamp electrical loom installed and positioned ready for use if required. Secondary fuse box installed for additional services if required. Halogen H4 headlamps fitted, replacing the sealed beam units.

Brakes & Wheels: New front brake pads with self-adjusting shoes at the rear. Goodridge stainless steel hoses throughout system. Excellent tyres all round including spare, running on Michelin Classics 155/80/13. All five wire wheels are in perfect working order and balanced. Brake system runs with silicon fluid.
Suspension, Steering and Drivetrain: Front suspension in fine working order. Rear suspension now has Spax adjustable shock absorbers. Leaf springs overhauled and now wrapped in Denso tape for added protection. Steering is light and precise. Propshaft full working order and balanced. Rear diff perfect working order.

Bodywork and Interior: Excellent condition with just a few blemishes here and there. It is in Rootes Forest Green (code 86) which is the equivalent to the BMC British Racing Green. The car has an absolute solid & rust free hardtop, with decent Perspex windows you can actually see through. Underneath of car is rock solid including all the sills which have been recently treated to Dynax 50 cavity spray. Anti-corrosion treatment underneath including recent POR15 application to front wheel arches and surrounding areas. Chrome in decent condition with no damage / dents and all correct Series V trim bits fitted. New correct spec Sunbeam Alpine headlining very recently fitted & professionally installed. MGF seats fitted replacing original Alpine seats, which are much more comfortable, and don't look out of place. Lovely dashboard and with the correct Rootes OE wood ingrained steering wheel. Boot area overhauled including all cosmetic panels, plus handmade new tool roll kit.

Documentation and History: The car does not require an MoT due to historic status, the last MoT was carried out in July 2019 with no advisories. Car currently taxed, free with Historic status. Absolute massive history file going back to 1969, with receipts, other documentation, continuous MoT's for decades. V5C present and correct. CD of the Alpine's comprehensive restoration (approx. late 80's) as commissioned by the previous owner, who owned the car for twenty-six years. The car has done approx. 4,500 miles over the last six years, and has recently completed a 1,350 mile trip from the south coast to Inverness, and a 230 mile round trip to the SAOC spares day, both with no issues. It is a Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club registered vehicle.
