The MGB GT was introduced in October 1965, and production continued until 1980. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking design by Pininfarina and launched the sporty hatchback style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear boot lid, the B GT offered the utility of an Estate Car, while retaining the style and shape of a Coupe. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster. The MGB GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars and a different windscreen which was more easily and inexpensively serviceable. Although acceleration of the GT was slightly slower than that of the roadster, owing to its increased weight, top speed improved by 5 mph to 105 mph because of better aerodynamics.
This MGB GT is described by the vendor to be in good condition with only 32,000 miles warranted and one owner from new. The car has been in heated storage for many years and has recently been recommissioned. Presented in the beautiful Inca Yellow with dark grey sports interior. There are numerous bills/invoices etc, and the original super cover hand book and service book, plus a spare key. The body work is stunning and has at some stage been refurbished to a high standard. All the doors close as they should, door shuts are good and the doors are original and in very good condition. The original wings are in very good condition, and the paint work looks and feels great.
The car has been fitted with new headlamps, new indicators and side lights, new front bumper with over riders, new grille, new rear lights, new rear bumper with over riders, new front carpets, new washer motor, and a new petrol pump. It has been given a recent service. The underside and sills are in good condition with the under bonnet area also good and original. The engine is good and clean. The interior is good including the dash board headlining etc. A great starter classic.
