The Mark VII Mini, from 1996, was the final version. It had twin point injection with front-mounted radiator, a full-width dashboard replaces the original shelf, internal bonnet release, an air bag on driver's side. The basic Mini was the 1.3i, the other model in the range being the Mini Cooper. The end of production in October 2000 not only signaled the end of original Mini production after 41 years, but also brought about the demise of the 1275cc engine which had powered the Mini and numerous other BMC, British Leyland, and Austin Rover Group cars for more than 30 years.

This 1997 Mini Cooper 1.3i nicknamed 'Pumpkin' was purchased in Jersey in June 2013 when the recorded mileage was 5,000 (not verified but believed to be genuine, Jersey is 9 miles by 5 miles), before re-registering the car in the UK in October 2016 when the vendor moved to the UK for study/work. The car has recently been driven only occasionally, over the six years of ownership the recorded mileage increased to 12,800. The car was garaged in Jersey and for most of its life in the UK, and is completely original apart from the radio, but the original radio remains with the car.

Described as being in very good mechanical condition,  the car drives well, starts first time and has never broken down during the past 6 years. It was last serviced November 2019 and is current MoT runs until November 2020. Recent services at 12,756 miles (Nov 19), 12,250 (Oct 18), 9,862 (Sep 16), 9,160 (Aug 16), 5,594 (Jul 2013), including tyres, brakes, sub frame mounts (invoices with car). A new battery has also been fitted. The interior is original and very good, and the alloy wheels and tyres are very good. The paintwork is good, but would be very good apart from some paint blemishes and a small area of rust on the chrome headlight unit (driver's side). The fuel gauge does not go all the way down to empty so best to refuel when showing 1/3 full. All service records over past 6 years included with the car as well as MoTs since 2016 (Jersey does not have MOTs). Service Book, Owner's Handbook, original brochure and 1997 price list from Jersey's Rover dealer, along with a few receipts and older invoices, also remain with the car.
